Schoodic International Sculptors Symposium

"Coming to Maine for the past few years to participate in the International Sculpture Symposium has always been a treat for me." Says David Sywalski, Director and Founder of Hanumann  Studios.  Working with the amazing sculptors who come from all around the world to share their unique techniques, and amazing talent with each other will transfix you as they turn blocks of granite into a towering works of art.

This symposium introduces seven (7) sculptors who hail from the far reaches of the wold.  Three from Maine and one from as far as Japan.

Roy Patterson of Maine
Jesse Salisbury of Maine

Sculptors start to gather in July for this multi-week event that runs through Spetember 10th to set-up shop, pick stone straight out of the quarry and work on transorming these, to the layman, massive rocks, into incredible works of art.

 

"Its great to work with sculptors from around the world," says Sywalski, "it's very satisfying to see how sculptors from other countries work.
