Gretchen Sommers
Ms. Sommers is one of our newests artists at Hanumann Studios. Ms Sommers is an incredible artists with diverse talents. Apprenticed sculpting with Chris Berti 1992-1994. Moved to Rochester, NY 1994.
From Ms. Sommers: Sculpting and painting are the expression are the expression of my own life's practice! I am a single mother whose sanity is maintained by the notion of 'simplifying'; bringing circumstance 'round to it's simplest form.
I am more interested in the quality of attention with which I create than complexity in creating. I like my work to be familiar enough in form and image to feel safe and yet simple enough to give wing to imagination. I see no difference in the act of creating attentively and praying.
